Structural Networks
Nile Computers Ltd has capacity to handle all computer-aided type of networks. These include and not limited to WAN and LAN. Our technical staff has capacity to install any customer-defined network regardless of the topology. The solutions to the above range from supply of related equipment, like Routers, Modems(both wire and wireless), structural installations, system configurations and commissioning. Under special arrangement, a client is at liberty to negotiate network administration and support by signing a specific kind of contract in regard to the same.
Repair and Maintenance
Our work is equipped to handle repair and maintenance of all equipment brands within or product hierarch. This is either on or off-site depending on the magnitude of the problem, or desired solution. We repair and maintain power, Logic, storage, and Visio-audio parts of all the equipment brands.
Our maintenance schedules are either on-call or time-bound basis depending on the customers desire or agreed terms. For better execution of tasks, we encourage our customers to enter into formal contracts with the company, which include either, remedial contracts, On-site preventive and comprehensive maintenance contracts.
Preventive maintenance contract is 'problem-avoidance bound' and focuses much on routine service of the equipment, which is normally after every four months.
Remedial contract includes service and repairs, inclusive of spare part replacement and supply. Under this kind of contract, payment for services is usually quarterly in advance. However, labour for replacement of parts is not born by the client. Comprehensive Maintenance Contract combines all the later types of maintenance. This also covers systems administration, standby equipment, and sometimes a dedicated technician to a particular client. Under this kind of maintenance, our dedicated technical team is bound to constantly visit the client's premises to ensure systems integrity and high-level performance.
General Maintenance practice:
(a) Power related tasks.
  • Site power and earth continuity measurements.
  • Power supply to equipment consumption ratings.
  • Earth leakage fault identification.
  • Servicing of UPS's and checking of battery levels..
(b) Tasks to be done on CPU's, Monitors and Keyboards
  • Servicing of keyboards due to accumulated dust between the contact surfaces and removal of foreign bodies from delicate membrane.
  • Checking and correcting character -to - key mappings for keyboards.
  • Cleaning of floppy drive diskette bays and cleaning the heads of dust and oil.
  • Checking and correcting data storage integrity of hard disks.
  • Determining storage safety levels(SSL) for fixed disks in use.
  • Virus check and removal
  • Blowing of carbon content in monitor
  • General checks on system equipment
  • Surface cleaning of all equipment
  • Servicing and head cleaning of tape and disc drives, surfaces.
  • Cleaning of mouse and trackball counter surface that eventually affects movement of mouse.
(C) Tasks to be done on Printers
  • Cleaning of print head pin outlets for dot matrix printers
  • Oiling of head quide and motor spindles
  • Blowing out paper dust and other foreign bodies.
  • Servicing of corona wire and imaging drum for laser printers.
  • Cleaning of paper transport mechanism.
(C) Tasks to be done on Network and customized system
  • Checking and establishment of secure communication links.
  • Examination of right communication protocols
  • Justifying the fan-out interface specifications.
Each servicing will be concluded by supply and installation of the latest anti-virus kit on each computer unit. The kit should either be McAfee or Norton Anti-virus.
Service Report
Before service/repair of any equipment under any contract, a report is fast attained on the integrity, number and possibly the different models of the equipment. After satisfactory completion of the tasks, a report on is released to the client for the equipment serviced/ repaired equipment. The report shall have details on the equipment's technical integrity and precautionary future measures in regard to proper maintenance practice.
